i wonder if the lime stone off of the camp ground that they filled the lake shore line with has more to do with it than the faulty septics the ph level is off the charts

Um, more like faulty septics have ruined the lake. This lake used to be a fish factory. It was also crystal clear, believe it or not. The fish are not stunted, they are sick.

Ice was very iffy. Had to ease around due to cracking and popping. The warmth has destroyed the ice here already. 0-2 on flags and nothing on jigs. Tried a dozen + hole before getting pushed off due to worsening ice and loss of shore ice.

Crystal is known to us locals as "fish-a-day" as in 1/day. I live a mile away but rarely drop a line out due to the long hike, carrying gear, etc.

If you are lucky, you may land a nice gill. Small perch and largemouth have the pond stunted. Great for exercise and drowning bait!

That's pretty funny I go down Pardeeville rd quite often and see 2 or 3 trucks in the parking lot but never a amish buggy.

report from 3-7-15 decided to swing for the fences and make the long walk into the public hunting ground for the first time in 3 to 4 years. Have done really well out here in the past on big gills, crappies, and perch. Drilled a bunch of holes and used some other holes from a couple people that were out in the morning. Checked out about a 100 holes. Caught maybe a dozen bass and lost a bunch of bass. No I was not targeting bass. Jig and a spike. Unfortunately bass seem to be the only thing that is left here. I've heard rumors that this lake gets "amished" in the spring. Anyone have any luck out here anymore? Caught all the bass on the weed edge. Did have one fish come up and hit that was not a bass. Bit repeatedly like it was 2 inches long and I could not hook it. Pretty sure I also lost a perch on the bottom of the hole, but not sure. Marked a couple fish out deep that would not bite, which makes me wonder. But it will probably be another 4 years before I am back again.

I believe the Crystal Lake you are talking about is mostly in Dane county, (Between Lodi and Praire Du Sac) there is already a thread for it. Cool
