Ice fished off the landing this afternoon out to the island. There is decent walking ice and not a whole lot of snow left on top. Maybe 4 inches of snow. The ice thickness varied from about 7in down to about three. The area around the island was kind of sketchy. A couple of snowmobiles went passed it over the weekend but now there is some standing water on top of the slush. That is the area where I found only two or three inches of good ice also. Other than that it was pretty good for foot travel fishing although no bites.
36° - 40° F
Musky fished on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and did not see a musky. Water temp was 50. We tried rubber, Medussa, toad, bulldog, suick, gliders, phantom and hellhound, spinnerbait, and had small suckers out, Nothing.
We went out all last week. Had to deal with the wind most of the week. We caught alot of bass on plastic worms wacky rigged. we were fishing on 10 to 12 feet off the weedline.
Plan to be up there this Saturday. Are the bass still holding out in the deeper weeds? Anybody have any luck on the points?
Bagotricks, check your PM when you get a chance.
Bass continue to be very active. Toothy critters not so much - walleys ok, northerns occasionally, musky very quiet.
