PutEmInTheBoat:

Depending on where you're staying, you should be able to get onto Cranberry.  Current is likely going to be the biggest issue, but if you can stay away from current or do what it takes to be safe close to current, there should be all sorts of fun to be had on that lake...

My mother, step father, girlfriend and I are coming up 27-30 of December. I'm hoping to get on some walleyes, panfish, and pike. We will be staying right on Cranberry, so itd be great if we can get on fish here, instead of trailering the ATV and all the gear. But I'll do what I have to, so I can get my family on some fish. Walleyes and pike will all be released, probably keep 15-20 panfish over the course of our trip.

I dont need your GPS coordinates or anything, but a little pointer or two would be much appreciated. I appreciate it! Feel free to PM me if youd prefer to keep it private.

Thanks, and I hope you all have a good Christmas!

Late post I fished Cranberry Lake Saturday 7/19 – Monday 7/21. I caught a few bluegill on worms and slip bobbers and perch using crappie minnows with both slip bobbers and Lindy Rigs. The perch I caught both good size and numbers. It was the best perch fishing I have ever had. All fish caught in 6-12 foot of water.

I live on Catfish and ice conditions are 9-10 inches but stay away from the channel and also the white posts inlet from the dam north of the island...good luck www.hipines.com

Had to go out of town for a few days. But I've been out there a few times and have also caught some nice perch. Been starting to get a little picky with them and only keeping them if they are 9" and over. Kept two 9's and one 10 and lost one that was from 12 to 13. Caught one 18" walleye. Been tossing back the 9 & 10" cigars that I've been catching. Looking to get out there today in the afternoon. I'll give a better report when I get back.

Party Crasher, Thanks for the comeback. I fished one evening out of the boat house and caught one little cigar. I found out about the size limits on the Eyes and that doesn't really appeal to me. So I'm going to go with your advise and see what I can do with the Perch. I've got a couple of cribs close by to play in. Thanks again for the comeback and have a Merry Christmas.

Gotwoims, I envy you. I've been fishing there since 1970. It's probably my favorite lake in the northwoods. If you are looking for a fish fry, forget the walleyes. The perch fishing is very good.
