If you had told me 15 years ago that virtually all my favorite people to fish with would be people I met mostly on Lake Link? Ya, I’d say that is crazy. But my phone lights up constantly from LITGUY, Catitude , OneBuck, Marvin, Stank, Casey... All from Lake Link. Well, I knew Catitude for years, just never talked fishing. Have been a customer of his for 15+years. I vividly recall the moment the light went on between us at Bukolt.. And, I’ve had some serious cattin fun, but my favorite days of cattin the last few years were ice fishing with Catitude and LITGUY on Dubay. That they both caught their first ice cats when I was able to witness the action? More fun than catching them myself. Looking forward to “Ice Cat Dubay Fest “ this winter with as many of the cattin crew as possible..need to talk Stank into bringing his ATV to haul us to the spot...
Three years ago I caught 8 catfish one day and I thought I was a catfishing genius. I was creeping Lake Link for awhile. I happened to stumble over Crawdaddy and his daughter on the river and put the puzzle together. The rest is history. I have caught thousands of cats only with the help of these guys. This year my personal best is a 7.5#. Never would have happened without these guys help. Thank You Gentleman!!
All you guys are a hoot to follow! I look forward to every cattin report... gonna do a little flattie fishing tomorrow night. Hopefully I'll get something respectable to CPR and post...
Ya know, that is what is so fun about cattin. With the exception of chasing the tanks and flatheads, everyone is pretty open about what we do, where we go, and how we do it. It allows us to repeat successful missions and learn from not only our own, but each other’s mistakes.
All I can say is... I learn more from my cattin' fishin' buddies than I'd ever know about catfishing myself! My job may be TEACHER/ Catfishing Fanatic, but the fine fishin' folks who allow me to fish with them are the true STARS of this show! I'm humbled each and every time I'm on the water with these creative, clever, funny, and knowledgeable fishermen! :-)

The only time those fish are safe is when Ralph is working. And even then he is scheming of ways to target them and fine tune his skills.
Good thing your driveway is wide enough to get your boat out around Litguy's boat. The catfish might not be safe after all! Lol

Well... had to take a couple days off from cattin'... The catfishing tournament this past weekend kicked my smelly old catfishing butt! :-(
Today's report is entitled: "Quality AND Quantity!"
Got back at it this gray, at the edge of storms AM north of Steven Point, WI on the WI River with Point fishin' buddy, Rick (Catitude). His goal? "Catch some WHOPPER channel cats!" (AND HE DID!!!). He pitched Triple S dip bait (cheese mix) at a wood pile and cpr-ed 2 hefty cats (5 lbs. and 6.5 lbs). Me? "NADA!!!" ;-(
Incoming storms chased us off the big river, so we retreated to the safety of The Catfish Corridor below the Point Dam... Rick caught QUALITY CATS earlier... now it was QUANTITY time! In 3 rain speckled hours of shoreline cattin', we cpr-ed 18 more of our whiskered friends! :-)
A BAD weather cattin' day turned into a PRETTY GREAT cattin' day... guess that's why ya GOTTA STICK WITH IT in ALL things in life! :-)
Happy Cattin', All!

Wading the Chip near Eau Claire...ran out of hooks on my chain stringer.
I was gonna give up on Sonny's/Triple S until the pandemic made it impossible to get chicken liver. Mainly because it works so well for smaller cats it almost like cheating. Almost but not quite. Back in the 90's one of my buddies would almost beg me to leave it in the car just so we could fish for something else.
When I was younger we ran setlines on Pool 9. One week crayfish would kill em. The next week helgramites from the local waste water treatment plant. It was kind neat figuring out what they wanted next.
Between cuts, chicken liver, shrimp, and a few other selections I was ready to surrender the dip. But I plain just chickened out. Oh well.
