Good Lake for keeping the kids entertained.  Lots of gill action.  Once i found them i hit them pretty much every hole i drilled.  Not alot of size but alot of action.  Had 8 flags throughout the day as well, LMB and Pike.  Biggest pike was 23" the rest were under 20 the bass were 12-15".  Again, not alot of size but fun day.

Is it worth checking this lake out this time of year or what would be some other options nearby for panfish and bass/northern? Thanks in advance.

Is this lake worth trying out for panfish or bass this time of year or what are some other good lakes or backwaters to check out in the area? Thanks in advance.

It was windy and nippy this morning! One hole in about 10' only produced 3" Bluegills. Had one takeoff on a shiner and it dropped.

Finally located active sunnies in 5 fow on the palmrod using a tungsten jig tipped with spikes

iced three decent pumpkinseeds

seen a gentleman ice a nice slab Black Crappie on a Tip-Down

safe fishing and Merry Christmas everyone!

Thanks for the info! We are staying at one of those cabin resorts- a group of college buddies (now in our 40s) and maybe 3 of us "fish" but I can probably get 6-7 out - with licenses of course - to throw out a few tips, look at fish with the fish camera, and jig a little. MAYBE keep some gills to fry up - will see- nothing too crazy. That is just the closest lake to where we are staying (Spring Brook??- they said they might have a fish pond there too?) Am checking into that- if I do go I will post how I do! Thanks again!!

Eckes... I would say there are definitely more productive bodies of water around. The lake has mostly smaller panfish and some small to decent bass. I've heard there may be some Northern, but I've never personally caught one. It's usually one of the first lakes to ice over since its fairly small and lacks depth. But...given the fact that we're late with the ice this year, it may be worth checking if you're dying to get on some hard water by the weekend. Unfortunately, I don't have any current ice info.. P.S I forgot to mention that it's considered a private lake, but can be legally accessed in the winter from the public road. Hope this helps..

Anyone with any info on this lake they would share? I might be up in that neck of the woods this weekend with a few guys- they don't fish much- love to set up few tips for them and jig a bit and get them on some fish... Is it worth it? Any info or tips are greatly appreciated! Thanks and good luck, stay warm and dry!

Thanksgiving night took a break from family to fish for a few hours. 5-8:30. Didn't venture far from the walk in launch but there was 4" of solid ice where we were. Set some tipups and jigged for crappies. No flags and only one crappie caught. Very slow. Fished in about 7-8' of water. Very cold, definitely making ice last night.

We rented a cabin by the lake which supplied us with a row boat. We went out to fish at 11pm just to see. Nothing caught, not even a bit. Next morning I woke up at 5am and started fishing from the northwest gulf to the north part of the lake. Nothing but a few bites from small bluegills. They were too small for the hook with bait( I was using bacon, corn or beef liver). Then I decided to go to the north part of the lake around 6:30am. Switched to artificial lures, one of those that comes with the fishing poles for free. Green Fluorescent one. It was hard at first because you get caught in the weeds most of the time but I saw a line on the body of the water with no surface grass/ weed. That's where I caught 4 walleyes in 8 tries that I made. 1of them was 22in, 18in, 14in and 14in. Released all of them. Next morning around 10am tried the same spot with same gear but no luck.

Went out today, got out bout 3 hand drilled 3-8inch holes, forgot my fricken jigging poles at home so I just threw in 3 tip-ups for about an hour or so, no flags. There were a few shantys up one guys across the lake out of his shanty had a flag and I'm pretty sure I seen him bring up a few fish jigging but who knows. I'll be back out tomorrow afternoon about 1 or so and maybe I'll even remember to bring my jigging poles Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile
