The links don’t seem to work, could you try doing them again or posting a pic? Thanks again!
Fishing farmer somewhere around that area. I live in Pittsville. Just not sure where it’d be relatively easy to launch a kayak and load back up in the same spot.
Where about would you planing to go around I know the area around Neillsville pretty well
Any stretches that would be decent to launch a kayak and paddle back to the same spot to leave?(and hopefully catch some fish) Don’t have time to mess around with two vehicles and what not. So would probably need a spot that doesn’t have too many rapids, or could launch and head up river and float back. Thanks for any advice. Probably would go sometime next week
Fished the Black River below Hatfield damn at various locations all the way to where Halls Creek hits Black River. Three of us spend probably about a total of 15 hours each this past weekend. We caught fish but not many. A few small short walleyes. Maybe 15 smallies but most were a foot or less though one was 18". Had a couple muskys on while fishing for smallies but they snapped the line. Caught a couple small crappies and one nice catfish. Most on live bait but some on cranks. Fished off shore a lot but also did a lot of hiking in the river further down. Man that can be tiring ….
Planning on launching at the Perry Creek Park Launch, and head down river to the Lost Falls Campground, stay there for the night and continue down river, pulling out at North Bend.
Is it possible to launch a jon boat at the David Hanson Memorial Landing or at Lost Falls campground?
River is at low summer flows right now. Where are you planning to take out at? If you go downstream you won't get back up without a jet prop. You might be able to motor upstream for a mile or so.
Any information regarding floating a 15' Jon boat down the Black River, I plan on launching at the Perry Creek Park Launch. This will be my first trip on this river and plan on taking the jon boat. I am wondering if water levels are suffcient. Thanks!
Water is clean down by Black River Falls, not much flow but clean. Could change by weekend with rain in the 1.5 to 2 inch range that is predicted.
