Stopped by the other day and saw the water was pretty murky. Was wondering if anyone was catching anything? don't need spots, just wondering if anything being caught.

It is 25 panfish. The Black Otter Lake district posted the yellow signs asking people to not take the full 25, because they just spent a ton of $$ to restock the lake. Those nice perch (although few and far between) that people are keeping were bought and paid for by the lake district. Again, it's a matter of how many fish a person can legally take from a lake compared to how many fish an ethical person should take from the lake until its had a chance to reboot. It's important to remember the lake was just refilled and restocked after the drawdown last October.

There are yellow signs all over the lake that say 10 because of the stocking efforts they tried to do but failed because of all the undersized panfish being kept.

The limit is 25. Do some reading. There are no special regs for Black Otter

This lake has special regs. It is not 25 panfish

Yes, it is a 25 fish limit for panfish, and 5 for northern of any size. That said, this little lake receives a ton of pressure, and cannot adequately sustain the number of fished being stacked on the ice day after day. The limits are what they are, but no one is forcing anyone to keep every 5 inch bluegill and 14 inch northern that bites your hook like I've been seeing out there. If you want an easily accessible fishery to be sustainable you either have to regulate it that way, or somehow convince everyone to have a little common sense. I think we need a whole lot of both out there.

Read your regulations the statewide panfish and northern size and bag lists apply to black otter. 25 panfish and 5 northerns no size limit.
