Frozen shush on top of some decent ice. About 10" 10 days ago. Good luck driving... Looks like some decided to haul ass across it while shushy. Deep ruts criss-crossing... Might be solid now.

I drove past Black Otter a few days ago, people fishing but I saw no vehicles on the ice. Its not safe anywhere in Wisconsin to drive a vehicle on the ice except a snowmobile or atv.
I was thinking of taking my dad out fishing. He is pretty old and not very sure footed. Could I get my truck out there? I dont mind walking out because it is a small lake, but I would rather my dad be safe.
Thanks for the info meatpuppets.
The lake is really bad for travel. 5 inches of heavy wet snow and 4 inches of water under it. A few small gills here and there.
Just curious what the snow cover/slush on the lake is looking like? Debating a couple different spots to fish in the morning.
31° - 35° F
Quiet morning. Spotted a few but not much more than a few bite and dash. Light breeze out of the east but not enough to motivate me to get out the pop up. Ice was about a foot. Boat landing is pretty sloppy for the first 20 feet. Be sure to bring a extra pair of socks if your boots aren’t waterproof.
Haven't seen any reports lately, how is the ice?
What are the ice conditions on black otter? I was out there on Christmas Eve and there was about 7-8 inches of ice. I’m wondering how much the weather affected the ice.
