Fished Sis for a couple of days (5/18 and 5/19) with my son and three other guys. Super windy the first day but they (not me) managed to catch a few northern and a few pan fish. The second day was warmer and less windy. Both days we had east and south east winds. The second day we were able to catch a 30" northern, a couple walleye, some perch and a half a dozen crappie. Not too bad for a short trip. Shallow weeds with crappie minnows and fat heads under bobbers. Water temps were in the low to mid 50's.

Anyone been out on Big Siss recently? Will have the family at the in-laws cabin the 9th, 10th and 11th.

Just wanted to see how the fishing was going since our first two trips this summer were rough on the fishing front.

Fished the 5th and 6th all over the lake. Fished with slips for panfish and we caught fish in most spots but it was hard to get anything worth keeping.

Are there any cribs in this lake at all? I drove around for over an hour on the 6th just looking for some cribs on the side imaging but couldn't find any.

Water temp was 75+ so I figured bigger fish would be on deeper weed edges or mid lake structure but no luck in those areas. Could only get bites in shallower less than 8 fow areas with weeds.

Did see a super nice dead walleye floating on the 6th. Probably a 24" fish.

Rough fishing at the in-laws cabin last weekend. Water temp was 55.8 on Saturday and got up 57.8 on Sunday. Not many fish caught. Checked several shallow bays and weedy areas. Not much for new weed growth. Very small gills, crappie and bass up shallow but few wanted and bite and nearly all looked too small to keep. Tried drifting crawlers over some mid lake structure and only a couple of 6" perch doing that. Hopefully 4th of July weekend produces a little better results for us.

Note to self... don't plan on catching enough fish to have fish tacos. Sure fire way to have bad fishing. Good thing we had a couple frozen pizza.

use snowmobile and bring shovels. The guys who have been going out everyday to the middle for crappie arent even out there. there are only possibly two roads plowed and they are buried. I would not advise any one to drive out with any vehicle. you might try walking out from VEES and that will be very tough.  Everyone I know around here is done for the winter too much work no fun at all. just telling you the truth to save you from a bad time.
