Sorry not a report. May try out here early ice. I’ve never tried it in the winter. Can you access off the road on the north side? Thats public property being it’s so close to the road or no? Where is this north side winter access someone eluded to below? Thanks for any help.

Went out on big butternut today for an hour and a half. Walked out by the fishing pier by the school and was walking on ice between 4.5-5 inches where checked. I did not go out more than 100-150 feet from shore. Marked fish, no takers.

Don't know about ice depth but people have been venturing out from the public boat not real far out. Did see one guy in a fishtrap kind of out from his house/ cabin on the north side. This was Saturday when I was in Luck.

Fishing has been very hit and miss the last 2 weeks. It has officially become the annual "chase and don't bite" time on Big Butternut. You'll stay active switching jigs and watching the fish chase on the flasher. Walleyes are being caught in low numbers still but are predominantly under 10". If targeting butternut remember to bring your patience.
