Anyone know the water temp in Beyer’s Cove??
Beyer's Cove (Big Green Lake)

I grew up on the cove back in the 70's and fishing was great for northerns and perch. There were good days for gills as well. Never crowded. 10 people was a crowd back then. The good old days for sure. There were only a handful of houses out there then. I heard it is packed nowadays.
My brother was out on Beyer’s Cove December 8th and caught a meal’s worth of perch and bluegill through the ice. He said there was about 3 inches at that time. My uncle was scouting it out this past weekend and said most of the Cove is open water now. The week between Christmas and New Years should bring some good early ice perch fishing. I’ve seen guys pull walleyes, northern, bass and Crappie all out of Beyer’s cover early ice. Personally, I’ve only ever caught crappie, bluegill and perch - I have seen a few northern swim through my holes though.
