Well once again we have safe walking only ice, we have fisherman out right now about 4 in. I will see if they are getting anything I will let all know.
|@ the lake|
Was by the lake today a very thin layer of ice not safe with a little warm up this weekend we could lose it. Next week looks like a good freeze may be good to go in a week to ten days.
Ice update not good guys the rain and warm weather hurt so you might as well deer hunt this week end. I do not see a big cool down for a few weeks, I will keep all posted on the lake.
As I sit here this fine Thu. morn. it is 45 and raining, as Gone Fishing two days ago reported the ice was soft, today gone? There is access to the lake off of hwy. 21 in the parking lot of the Old Mill Bar & Grill right by the lake, talked to the new owners and that is fine, they are planning a lot of new things and even a ice fishing contest in Jan. or Feb. Gone Fishing will give up dates on the ice he lives by the lake I hope this helps everyone.
I plan on fishing there in a couple weeks. Regular ice reports would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
How do you access Arkdale Lake in the winter? Is there a place to park?
Thanks for your help.
Went over to the lake today the Ice is getting a little soft so be care full the next few days could be around 40 so be safe if you are going out.
Panfish oner the last 20+ years have been nonexistent there was a good perch numbers 7-10 in. back in the day In the lake today good numbers of Pike from 12 in. to 20 in all day long with a few keepers 26+. I have seen a 42 in caught. A good number of S & L bass 15 to 20+in. cats, carp, and if you are real lucky a walleye. I hope this helps. a fun lake if you have kids. I can walk to lake its my go to lake when I want to have fun and a few beers.
Panfish small. Pike are the only draw really. Tons of huge crayfish in summer. A few nice largemouth.
I've never fished Arkdale. Any decent panfish to be caught? Thanks in advance for any response.
