Don't get me wrong.. if you can get your hands on some cohos, they're great eaters. Just don't expect any trophies. The fall season is a beautiful time of year up here, definitely a great getaway.
Thanks Butternut! It's partially just to get a change of scenery too. Thanks for the comment, I'm glad to know it hasn't been good so I can lower my expectations!
You'd be better off staying on lake Michigan for salmon/trout. All you're gonna get up here is small cohos and Lakers.. Not to mention fishing has been crap up here all year. Not trying to burst your bubble, just being honest. I'll be driving down to Milwaukee for salmon/trout myself in September.
This is a pretty quiet thread the last few years! I am heading up for some fishing end of August. I am new to salmon/trout fishing the last two years, but I have a downrigger set up and the normal flashers and dipsy divers ready to go. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on where to go? I usually leave out of Racine on Lake Michigan, this is my first time on Superior. Here's a northern pike pic from Ontario for attention.
Headed out in search of big browns and was not disappointed. Be sure to hit that subscribe button if you like coming along on these adventures.
Got your note on the truck saturday, but we aren't the fellow in question. We do share your sentiment.
That's open water yet.
Is the ice bridge in use yet going to madalyn island
I am heading to the Apostle Islands at the end of September for a kayak trip. We are planning on "living off the land" for the four days we are out there. I do quite a bit of fishing, but never on lake superior around the islands. I was hoping someone could give me a little advice on what fishing gear/ lures to bring ( limited space) and what I might expect to catch around the islands.
Thank You for your help
Looking for some info on the ice conditions. A friend and I are thinking about coming up that way to try to fish for Lakers but we are rather unfamiliar with the area. Any info would be greatly appreciated
