Driving from N. Door County to MKE today and thought I'd stop and shore fish Algoma to break up the drive a bit.  Any advice?  Is it too early for Browns?  Maybe steelhead?

I grew up in the area, and have often come that direction for Steel and Browns through the ice. I am a pastor living near Shawano and am thinking of coming that way to give it a try through the ice. Any kind of information about conditions or whether fish are in would be appreciated. I have an idea of where to fish, and how... Am wondering about ice conditions and the presence of fish before making the 2 hour trip.

You can PM me to let me know if you'd rather not post something public.

You are all in my prayers for safety on the ice and safety from this.... yeah, let's leave that just that way.

Thanks in advance.

Peace of the Lord be with you.

Has anyone been out in the harbor?   Are the fish there or have they moved up stream already?  Thank you in advance

Ahnapee pike and bass? Is the river worth fishing if targeting warm water species such a pike or smallies? At this time of year for example....never fished the river looks to be slow moving water that would be easy to kayak fish toss blade baits tec

There’s plenty of ice. Trout fishing hasn’t been too good very very slow in the river this year, at least for me. I haven’t heard much happening. 1 brown caught last weekend though. most guys are fishing for pike

Howdy fellow fisherman,

I am thinking of trying some trout fishing this weekend out of Olson Park. Could any of you share some information ? Is there any ice? Is it solid ?  Thank you.

I was wondering the same thing. I live in La Crosse County and was planning on doing some trout fishing through the ice but that doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon Crying . I was thinking it might be open water fishing on all of the tributaries this winter. Has anyone been doing any good in the Green Bay area? I've been seeing that there are a few steelies being caught around Milwaukee. Feel free to PM me. I'm not looking for anyone's hot spot just want to know if the fish are moving up.

Tight lines,

Woodsnwater

How will all the recent rains affect the river? Is it too early for rainbows to start moving up into river?
