TIPS & TACTICS
Spinner baits and worms work for largemouth bass in the spring and fall. Crankbaits are best in the summer. Catfish fishing is good year round in this lake with chicken gizzards, blood bait, and crawfish being baits of choice. Crappie are best in winter and spring. Excellent catches are had in the enclosed fishing dock and the marina. Minnows are bait of choice followed by jigs. Brush piles provide great catches of crappie. White bass often surface off the dam in the summer, otherwise they can be caught by trolling shad mimicking crankbaits. Several species of sunfish are available. They are best caught in the summer on small hooks baited with worms under a very small cork. Lots of fun and good to eat, too!

Twelve aeration diffusers are located near the dam. At certain times of the year, multiple diffusers can be in operation, causing bubbles to rise to the lake surface. This can attract baitfish and other predatory fish such as crappie or bass. Live minnows, shad, or baits mimicking these species can be used effectively in these areas.
FISHING REPORT
FAIR. Water lightly stained; 72 degrees; 1.55 low. Largemouth bass are fair on chatter baits, jigs, crankbaits, and craws near rocky shorelines, timber, and brush. White bass are good in 20-35’ with slabs and jigging spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows around docks, marinas, and submerged cover. Catfish are good on punch bait.
