Driving
Fill up your RV with gas and head out to the popular Tenkiller State Park in Vian, Oklahoma. The state park is located on the southeast side of Lake Tenkiller in the heart of Cookson Hills. Travel tip - when traveling from the east on 1-40, you will want to use exit 297 to Route 82. Many GPS systems will advise you to take an earlier exit which uses a narrow, curvy road that is not the easiest to navigate with an RV.
Parking
When you reach the state park, turn onto Tenkiller Drive and travel for an estimated half a mile. Continue around the curve to the left and you will find the main office for check-in located on your right. Campsites are both pull-through and back-in depending on which one you reserved. Roads are well maintained making travel to all RV campsites a breeze. There are other parking lots available within the park as well for those not staying at the campground.

Fox Squirrel & Flying Squirrel RV Campground
Come and camp at Tenkiller State Park’s most popular campground with 52 RV sites. Situated right off of Highway 100 and Tenkiller Drive, this campground offers visitors full hookups of electric, water, and sewer. Travel tip to note - four of the 26 sites offer 50-amp hookups and 22 sites offer 30-amp hookups.
The camp’s Flying Squirrel RV Campground is used as overflow from the Fox Squirrel Campground. Here, each site offers 30-amp electric hookups and visitors can utilize one of the three water spigots available.
Each campground is an easy walking distance from the comfort station with restrooms, showers, and covered picnic pavilion for group outings. The campsites are also the popular children’s fishing pond. This campground is open all year round.
Blue Jay Knob RV Campground
Come and stay in your RV at the highest point within Tenkiller State Park. To access this campground, drive north on Pine Cove Road and take a right at the Y. There are 23 sites with 30-amp electrical and water hookups, plus a grill and picnic table provided at each camping site. Set apart from the rest of the camp, there are family activities like a children’s playground that can provide entertainment for the group. This campground is closed from May to November.
Shady Grove RV Campground
Enjoy camping under the green, shady trees at this private campground. When you leave the Hickory Flat Campground, follow Pine Cove Road north until you turn left at the Y to access Shady Lane. Enjoy making dinner under the mature shade trees. With only 11 RV sites, you will want to reserve this area quickly. Each campground has 30-amp electric, sewer, and water hookups. This campground is closed from May to November.

In-Season
Get Out On The Water
Grab your swimsuit and bring your own kayak, canoe, or boat to explore the Tenkiller waterways. Dine at Clearwater Cafe
Need a break from your campground meals? Located on Pine Cove Road between Tenkiller Drive and Goose Neck Campgrounds, the Clearwater Cafe is a great place to enjoy a cold beer and a delicious lunch on their deck on the water while you watch the different boats in the marina. Open seasonally, it offers tasty treats like the campground favorite of cheeseburgers, steak and of course, the all-time favorite tower of onion rings.
Driftwood Nature Center
Perfect for a rainy day at the park! Learn more about Lake Tenkiller’s ecosystem through a variety of exhibits and naturalist programs provided by the nature center. Located near the park office, campers of all ages can meet the on-site naturalist to take nature walks, eagle tours, hayrides, arts and crafts, stargazing, and many more recreational activities all year long. Take a picture with Boo, an African Collared Dove, that lives at the center to teach visitors about invasive species.

Pine Cove Marina
Need a snack or a place to refuel your boat? Then the Pine Cove Marina is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat or stock up the pantry at the retail store. Have a boat? Dock it here at one of the 361 boat slips. Need a boat? You can rent a ski boat or pontoon boat at the Marina for a fee. This store provides everything you need for a great day out on the water.
Scuba Diving
Pack your wet suit so you can explore the emerald waters of Lake Tenkiller by scuba diving. With 130 miles of shoreline and dedicated scuba diving school, this water activity is great for beginners and advanced swimmers. There is a local underwater dive park at Lake Tenkiller that has submerged objects like sunken boats, plane fuselage, and a helicopter. Your great outdoor adventure as you discover an underwater world is one that you will remember for a lifetime.
Birdwatching
Lake Tenkiller offers RV visitors world-class bird watching opportunities. Songbirds and waterfowl are lakeside favorites, while bald eagle viewing is a popular wintertime activity at the Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge. Guided eagle and loon tours take place most Saturdays from January through March.
