Delta Lake provides a quality fishery for many species. Many anglers target walleye, northern pike, or bass. Jigging or trolling will produce good numbers of walleye in the 15-20 inch range, with fish approaching the 30 inch mark reported. Northern pike that exceed 45 inches have been taken. Smallmouth bass are more abundant than largemouth bass, but both species are caught up to 20 inches.

History & Status of the Fishery
DEC Bureau of Fisheries historically managed the walleye fishery in Delta Lake by annually stocking fry. Surveys conducted in 2009 and 2010 found that walleye were spawning in the lake, and thus the stocking program was suspended in 2013 to determine if the walleye population could be sustained exclusively by natural reproduction.
