HISTORY AND STATUS OF FISHERY
NORTHERN PIKE WERE CAPTURED AT A RATE OF 7.50/LIFT FISH RANGED IN SIZE FROM 19-25.1 INCHES IN LENGTH WITH THE MODAL LENGTH GROUP OF 23 INCHES. GROWTH WAS GOOD. BLACK CRAPPIE, BLACK AND YELLOW BULLHEADS, BLUE- GILLS, AND YELLOW PERCH WERE THE MOST IMPORTANT SPECIES CAUGHT IN THE TRAPNETS. BLACK CRAPPIE WERE CAUGHT AT A RATE OF 39.0/LIFT WHICH IS ALMOST EIGHT TIMES THE LOCAL MEDIAN. FISH RANGED IN SIZE FROM 5-7.2 INCHES IN LENGTH WITH THE MODAL LENGTH GROUP OF 6.0-6.4 INCHES. GROWTH WAS GOOD FOR BLACK CRAPPIES. BLUEGILL WERE NOT ABUNDANT WITH A CATCH- RATE OF 2.83/LIFT. THIS IS ABOUT 1/10 OF THE LOCAL MEDIAN. BLACK BULLHEADS WERE PLENTIFUL WITH THE MODAL LENGTH GROUP OF 5.5-5.9 INCHES. ONLY THREE BASS WERE CAUGHT. ONLY ONE CARP WAS CAUGHT EVEN THOUGH CARP ARE KNOWN TO BE ABUNDANT IN THE LAKE.
