A targeted survey (fall nighttime electrofishing) was conducted on Lake Washington on October 4th, 2023, to evaluate young of the year (YOY) and yearling Walleye abundance. A total of 89 YOY were sampled for a catch rate of 66.8 fish/hr, which was above the lake's historical median (33.8 fish/hr). In 2023, the average length for YOY was 5.2 inches, which was the shortest average on record and was below Washington's historical average (6.9 inches). Walleye fry were stocked this year. In 2023, a total of 4 yearlings were sampled for a catch rate of 3.0 fish/hr, which was above Washington's historical median (2.6 fish/hr). The average length for the yearlings was 11.8 inches and was slightly above Washington's historical average (11.7 inches).
