History & Status of the Fishery
Marsh Lake is essentially a wide spot on the Temperance River. It supports fisheries for northern pike and yellow perch. Northern pike were present in fairly high numbers in 2007; however, most of the fish taken in assessment gear were small (under 20 inches), as has usually been the case in this lake. Yellow perch abundance was average, but their size was above average. Most of the yellow perch collected were over eight inches in length. A few walleye were present, but probably not enough to provide a fishery. Although none were collected in the 2007 assessment, it was likely that some smallmouth bass could also be found in this lake, since they are common in lakes above it in the watershed.
