HISTORY AND STATUS OF FISHERY

Lake trout were abundant, but most were small (under 20 inches in length). The lake trout population was entirely self-sustained; no stocking had been done since 1996, and none of the fish collected were old enough to have been stocked. Lake trout were probably subsisting mostly on invertebrate forage, and growth rates were slow.

Smallmouth bass were present in average numbers. No other gamefish species were found in 2006, as has usually been the case in this lake. A few yellow perch and average numbers of white sucker were present.
