Splake abundance in the fall of 2007 was average or better, compared to similar lakes in the area. Although some fish larger than 16 inches were present, fish 11 to 14 inches were most abundant. Survival of splake fingerlings stocked in 2003-2006 had been good, and growth rates among younger fish had been somewhat faster than average for this area. No splake older than four years of age were taken in this assessment. White sucker were the only undesirable fish species found in 2007. They had been present in this lake for many years, but the catch in 2007 was the highest observed to date.
