PRESENTLY, THERE ARE THREE SPECIES OF FISH OCCURRING NATURALLY THAT WERE SAMPLED IN LAKE 418; PUMPKINSEED, BLUEGILL AND LARGEMOUTH BASS. ONE WALLEYE WAS SAMPLED. A RESIDENT FROM STONEY LAKE HAS REPORTED TO THE WALKER AREA FISHERIES OFFICE THAT HE HAD TRANSPORTED 125 SMALL WALLEYES TO LAKE 418.THE BLUEGILL POPULATION IN LAKE 418 EXHIBITS HIGH QUALITY - PSD=55; RSD-7=30, RSD-8=12. THEIR GROWTH IS FAST (5 YEAR-OLD FISH ARE 7.8 INCHES LONG).THE TRAPNET CATCH OF LARGEMOUTH BASS WAS 3.8. FISH SAMPLED RANGED IN LENGTH FROM 5 TO 13 INCHES. THE GROWTH RATE FOR LARGEMOUTH BASS IS SLOWER THAN THE STATEWIDE AVERAGE GROWTH RATE.
