This report is from last night. Went back out for round 2 during the on and off rain storm to slam some more large mouth bass! I had a hard time hooking up. I was getting bites every 5 casts or so. Only 3 fish in the boat, but still fun fishing with the Berkley Powerbait Bearded Single Tail Grub (black with blue flake) rigged Texas style. 1 Northern and 2 large mouth bass. Largest bass pushed 19-20 inches.

This report was from last night. Wow! The fishing was great! Despite the strong southern winds and the temperature drop, the large mouth bass were biting like crazy! The meal ticket was a Berkley Powerbait Bearded Single Tail Grub (black with blue flake) rigged Texas style.
I fished the northern shore of the lake near docks and structure. The wind must have been pushing bait fish up to shore causing a feeding frenzy. I've had a dozen or more missed opportunities for a good hook set and I even got bit off once by a northern pike! Largest bass pushed 18-19 inches.

It was a windy opener but the fish were still biting! Water temp was 52 degrees and we fished the north shore of the lake. Nice eater size crappies were hitting almost every cast and a bunch of dink bass were caught also. Our best bass was 19 inches, caught while coming back in to the landing. Not a bad opener and a great start to the season
I was just on the lake again Sunday and while fishing the same docks and cover, the bass are still biting! This time I Texas rigged a Lake Fork Trophy Crawfish plastic. Largest fish was 17 and a half inches

It's been a while since I have fished this lake. The large mouth bass presence has always been here. Using a Mann's Jelly Worm Texas rigged, I was able to pull a few bass out of cover from the docks. Nothing with size but still fun!
