This report is from Saturday morning. Little Joe was always a hidden gem for me, however the hot and bright sunny morning made it tough to catch the hungry pike and bass found in this pond. The weeds and lily pads ares still coming in, so the boat landing is somewhat clear enough to wade through.

I caught many pan fish during this outing, but the pike and bass were allusive. I got cut off 2 times from pike and had one spit my hook right after I picked him up! Good times regardless.

It's been over a year since I have open water fished this pond. Tough pond to get on! No real boat ramp or dock access. Once I was able to make it through the muck and weeds, the fishing was great! The bass and pike seem to be aggressive as always!

First time on the lake this winter. A lot different from last year. The fish are very fussy biters. I had to work them for a while. No Gills were found and Crappies were 9-10".

This may be one of my last fishing reports for the SW Metro lakes! Beautiful weather over the weekend allows for being able to stay portable. And being portable paid off for me! Hitting limits for crappie today and yesterday. Fishing in 30 fow, the crappie were suspended around 19-17 fow. Some are shooting up from 22 fow with aggressive hits. Using Lindy Rattl'n Flyer Spoons and Northland Tackle Live Forage jigs tipped with minnow heads.

Stay tuned for future reports of early open water fishing for pan fish. Smile

Fussy biters today! Dead sticking with minnow heads on jigs, was the best technique. I was sitting on 34 fow and fish are hitting at 25 fow.

Super cold out this morning! I was out from 9 to noon, fishing in 28 fow (6 inches of ice), catching crappie and nice sized Gills in 24-25 fow. They were hitting lures without being tipped with bait! But as the morning wore off, I had to tip some jigs with minnow heads to get them to bite. Had a medium sized sucker on a tip up, but no takers. I fish this pond in the open water season and it is very promising. So I hope I can catch that monster pike soon!

13 inches of ice on top of 22 fow where I was fishing at. Had some aggressive hits from a few pikes, but couldn't get them hooked. Nibbles from panfish a few feet off the floor, but no takers.

8" of ice out here. Water is very dingy, use some bright colors and glow. 2 big players are out on the ice with big houses. No room to park in the boat landing. Recommend unloading gear at boat landing, park at nearby park, and walk back.
