Fished this stretch for river for a about 2 hours this past weekend.  Managed a 14" smallmouth on a spinner.  Lost another on a senko.

Not enough action to establish any pattern... but slow and shallow is probably the way to go.

Fished down by the dam for walleye today. Managed one about a foot long a caught a few small mouth in the process. Nothing with much size, but it was fun to catch some fish.

I sure do miss that hotspot in MPLS. Crying I moved down here in KS. But now I get a chance to catch there Legendary Wipers. I've seen people pull em in and it sure looks fun. They've got quite some fight in them. I still miss those muskies though. Good Luck Fishin. Cool

Went out tonight for the last hour of light. Caught some small smallies and managed to catch a nice sheephead. If you can ever call one nice. I caught it on a bfishn tackle superdoo. Using 4 pound test line she bulldogg me 50 yards down river, jumping rocks and back reeling. When i landed her the jig fell right out. Great practice for when it is a nice walleye on the line. Pretty fun in the shadows of the U of M. Big Smile

Right now I would recommend fishing down under 35w, you can get there by turning left just before you hit the stone arch bridge by the U of M steam plant (I believe it's 8th street off of 4th/University). It is especially good early in the year, but can produce all year long.

Once all the game fish open up you can pretty much fish anywhere along the river and catch fish. Look for structure of any type for bass, deeper water for walleyes. Catfish and Carp can be caught anywhere.

Went out Saturday around 1pm, lost one crappie in the first 5 minutes with no bites after that. Switched to carp around 2pm for a while and couldn't even catch one of those. Other people were catching carp and cats between 1-2pm but nothing after that.
