Heading up end of January first weekend in February for a veterans ice fishing event. Wondering how thick the ice is and if people are driving around on the ice? Thanks in advance.

Back last night and found the crappies. Nothing huge, all in the 7-8" range. Lots of them! Hit on both waxies as well as crappie minnows. Ice conditions were pretty good, in general 6 + inches in the area i was in. 30 FOW, fish were suspended 16 -26 feet and dropped to the bottom after dark.

First time on this lake, found bluegills streight off in 6-9 FOW. Decent size for the most part but nothing "huge". Jumped around looking for crappies and walleye but no luck. Will be back tomorrow night to try again.

Got out to the lake right at sundown. I started to mark fish on the bottom right away in 16 - 19 feet of water right off the beach on the west side. I ended up getting my ten crappies in about an hour or so, but they where on the smaller side, about the minimum that I would keep.

As for the ice, it is getting very soft and there is a lot of standing water on it. As you walk around alot of the holes that have been drilled in the last few days are still open. If this weather keeps up it will be unfishable very soon.

Went out with my 9 year old son on Sunday and he caught a 17" walleye and a 26"in Northern on the south end.  I got skunked.  Was on from 7-10am. Ice will be pretty bad now with the warm weather.  Might even open up again tomorrow.

Any new updates for this lake? I'm thinking of fishing it on Tuesday and it will be my first time. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
