As the weather cools down, the fish are getting more active. So I decided to take an adventure to Lake Lucy by paddling through the channel from Lake Ann in Chanhassen Minnesota.
I haven't fished this lake this year at all but boy am I impressed! I was getting 11-12 inch crappies by fishing a few feet away from the weed lines on the south end of the lake. I had a mixed bag of Northern Pike, but nothing with crazy size. Also caught a few big boy gills! This was all in about 6-7 feet of water.
I can't believe how big these pan fish have gotten over the years. The fishing wasn't all too hard either. Sometimes I cast for a fish and sometimes I just jig next to my kayak! They preferred a medium sized bait fish profile anything larger and they didn't seem to want to chase it. I can't wait to get out here for some more action!
