26 feet next to a weed line.

All perch caught.

Saw about 5 fish on graph around 4:30pm.

First skunk of the year.

12 inches of ice near red boat house near grassy.

Two guys with large wheel houses drove across middle of lake from koobs landing.  Ice must be decent I guess.

Zorbaz channel has a lot of moving water this year.  I would stay clear of it for now.

Targeted walleye while trolling in 15-25 FOW running about 15 deep with some success on the big lake. Local reports have been on fire with bass.

Pike were okay on trolling Rapalas.

A few bass on weedlines in 12 FOW on spinner baits.

Took part in the Jaycee's Ice Fishing Extravaganza and got skunked again. Tullibees dominated the leaderboard again. Great weather conditions, but lack of walleye and pike.

In the evening, I headed to Booming Out Bay and jigged in 25 FOW with only one small walleye to show for it. They may be running a touch deeper this time of year.

Ice was plenty thick 16" to 18" in areas without current. Not a lot of snow on top.

Got this report from Outdoor News for December 23rd, 2016.

"Ice depths average about 8 inches on area lakes and ATVs are being used, but you still have to watch some areas on the big part of Gull Lake."

Thank God for Jack Wawro! I've been searching everywhere for a Gull Lake Ice report.

Keep it coming with the ice info. Anything specific you can tell us about Hole-in-the-day?

Any updates on what's happening on the Gull Lake chain? We're heading up there next week. Hoping to get on some walleye and pike.

Thanks! Feel free to PM if you'd rather.

June 20, 2015. Today was the Camp Confidence Fishing Classic benefiting Confidence Learning Center. My wife and I were partners and targeted largemouth bass. I had heard the largies were on fire and I think they still were, but not for us. I hit some usual spots and they turned up nothing but 1 1/2 to 2 pound fish and not in great numbers either. I saw guys fishing real shallow and did pretty well. We fished deep, shallow and in between, but it just wasn't meant to be. We fished the smaller lakes up north on the chain and it just wasn't happening. We did fish 2 areas on the main lake and we had the same result except on the main lake we caught no fish. My wife threw strictly a Northland Impulse Dipstick. I threw that along with a craw tube, a jig and a beaver tail. The only bites I had were on the Northland Dipstick. A frustrating day to say the least in terms of size and numbers.

Want to catch 3 keepers for dinner? Go buy 6 beers from liquor Store. Go out and find 19 feet next to weeds with hard bottom. If sun is setting at 4:30pm set up house at 3. Drink 3 beers until 4:29pm. Put down your beer and get your mind right because your humminbird is going to light up 3 times between now and 5:15. Catch all 3 fish that pop up. Grab your beer finish the other 2 and head home. Gull lake in a nutshell.

I was out on gull for past three nights. As always the fish only bite from 4:30 to 6. After and before that its the dead zone. Smaller presentation is working best. Glow green anything. Caught three keepers per night staying in 25 feet or more. Ice varies quite a bit. Most ice was 16, least ice was 8. Only ran into one bad slush spot near Dutchman's bluff area....closer to shore.
