This lake used to have beautiful weed beds back in the day (70's/80's/90's), but the invasive species have taken their toll and the water is clear and free of much of the natural growth that once made it a great sportsman's lake. Wearing water shoes is a must when visiting or the zebra mussels may give unpleasant cuts to your feet. There is also a terrible case of swimmer's itch (microscopic parasites), so be prepared for a possibility of a month of unpleasant scratching and scabs if you decide to take a swim. We unfortunately discovered this after a swim this summer. Hopefully the DNR will (or can) take action to improve this lake to make it a sportsman's lake as well as a recreational lake again.
