What a fun lake to fish. If you are fishing anywhere near the islands, use steel leaders or you'll be sorry. Lake fishes best in calm weather.

Magician Lake is a great lake to fish. It provides anglers with many species to try and catch. Some species include: Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Northern Pike, Perch, Crappie, Bluegill, Sunfish, Rock Bass, and Catfish. The main species that are caught are bass, bluegill, crappie, and northern pike. Walleye are very rare in the lake. They are hard to catch and even harder to find. It is quiet a challenge to find or catch the walleye in the lake. Another difficult fish to catch is the smallmouth bass. There are smallmouths in the lake but they to are hard to find. The few smallmouth bass i have caught have been enormous. Ranging from 14-21 inches and 1.5-3.5 pounds. Most of the bass caught in the lake are under the piers, there are piers all around the lake. There is an abundance of crawfish and minnows in the lake. The lake also runs very deep. The deepest point of the lake is nearly 65 feet. There are many types of cover on the lake. There are countless weedbeds, flats, rocks, 2 islands and finally a man-made channle. The channle is shallow but there are many fallen logs and trees. I have been fishing the lake for as long as i can remember, i am only 16 years old. I would advise you to go to Magician Lake if you ever have the chance.
