Very late report. I live in Wisconson, but my family vacationed on Stanley week of July 25, 2009. Anyone wondering about water clarity, this was the cleanest, clearest lake I've ever fished on. I fished mainly with a whole or half crawler and a 1/16th oz ball jig, dark blue with red eye did the best. I used 4# Gamma mono tied right to the jig. This lake has very good smallie action. Lots and lots of nice smallies up to 19", with most being in the 14-16" range. The lake is teaming with crayfish. The smallies are well fed with everyone caught pooping crayfish parts. We were able to catch smallmouth pretty much throughout the day no matter what the weather was like. There were quite a few walleye but in a week of fishing we must have caught 100 walleye and all but one were less than legal. 12-13" were most common with a few being over 14". We managed one that was just a hair over 15". It was disappointing to catch so many walleye and no keepers. Best bite was in the morning at or just after sunrise in the shade. The lake has virtually no weeds so brush and fallen trees were where the action was. One morning got into a nice mess of perch and caught my largest yellow perch ever at 12.5".

I will be fishing this lake for the first time in a couple of weeks. If anyone has any info on it I would really appreciate it! Even clarity or any thing like that. Thanks!
