I have friends who go to the area, (Shaky Lakes), the first week of October every year.  They are there now and do very well on all species.  The fish have the feed bag on and you should be fine.

Any honest answers as to how the fishing is in the early fall would be appreciated. It's a 150 mi ride one way for Me and just want an idea to whether it's worth the ride?  Thanks

Are you able to get to Perch Lake in the winter with a 4*4 truck?

Go to Luckeys bait store on US 2 in Iron River and talk to Aunt Gloria and Lance. They will give you information and they sell bait.

Interesting choice......gander mountain in marquette about 60 miles from sidnaw, michaho resort about 45 miles(tougher road for speed to travel), disney in baraga(bout 40 miles) used to have a 24 hour dispensary system... I love the setting of the NF campground on perch, but roads back could be dicey in october or may

Not much for bait shops in the area that late in the year, depending on where you're coming from a good bet would be in Land o Lakes, Wi on the border. Have done fair up there in the fall. Good Luck

Having a son go to NMU I've enjoyed traveling the areas of the U.P. I am thinkin' of a camping/fishing trip to Perch Lake this fall (October) and/or next spring. Wondering where the closest bait shop is? Sidnaw? or someplace else? Any word on the walleye fishing in late fall or early spring would be helpful. Big Smile

Thanx,

Dodad
