No Pike that I know of. Pan fish and large mouth bass. There used to be walleye many many years back.

I fished Gene's Pond on my annual fishing vacation to the U.P. about a week ago. The bass were really active in the light wind and drizzle. I caught several bass on a Whopper Plopper (topwater) but most fish came on a watermelon/red Zoom Super Fluke also caught a few fish on a watermelon seed Zoom Finesse worm. The water was clear and the weeds were thick. Most of the fish came off of wood. The boat ramp at Gene's Pond can handle a large bass boat and has a loading ramp.

Knocked the rust off all the gear and went out on Genes Saturday 12/30.  More or less a test run for a new portable and auger.  Fishing was slightly slower than I remember for Genes, but we also missed a lot of small bites.  2 guys, 20 fish (mostly perch, couple gills, one rock bass) and only kept 5 perch.  Few other portables on the ice.  Couple side-by-sides and one small chevy s-10.  I'd say 9" of good ice and about 2" to 3" of snow on ice.  We were in about 6' of water.  I'm sure we could've caught more if we'd stayed longer, but the little heater wasn't keeping up with the cold temps and 15+ mph winds.  Only fished from 8am to Noon.  Good luck and be safe out there!

Fished in a light rain with David and Allen...The shoreline had a lot of male bass staged up. We threw finesse rigs...wacky worms and light T rigs and caught close to 60 bass from 12-14". It was fun on light tackle. Several other boats were chucking big spinnerbaits etc to no avail...too early for those presentations. Females will go on beds soon...Blackflies and mosquitos were really bad...
