Anyone fish the mouth of the escanaba or ford recently? I was there a couple weeks back and had some luck at escanaba. All smaller male walleye. Will be up this weekend to try the ford river. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello,

I am heading up to UP end of October to vacation on the bank of escanaba river above the dam. When Salmon run happens, are the fish able to pass the damn to make their way above the dam or my only chance to catch is to drive down below the damn? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

Andrew

The salmon will run up the river, a lot of people will fish right underneath the highway bridge and dam. They haven't started running yet, but should be soon

There haven't been any postings (or stockings below the first dam ??) for years on this body of water. Facilities for launching are there and reports on the Bay can be found but nothing on the river ...

I'm curious ... in the fall ... are there any transient salmon or trout using this water from the hydro to the lake ...

Enlighten me ... PLEASE !!!!!

Hey Greenhead check out smelt in Ashland on the Wisconsin reports. Sounds like they're still coming in over there

Sorry to say the smelt are a thing of the past. Virtually no local runs anymore.
