Well my wife and I fished Emily for the first time on Saturday hoping to find a few crappies for dinner. Pulled up to the lake around 7am to find no one fishing and left the lake just before noon. We didnt fish the area of the lake we wanted to due to snow depth and struggling to travel by foot with all our gear. We couldnt seem to get away from the 4-5" perch. Between my wife and I we must have caught 20-30 small perch and one nice 12" crappie that must have been lost. I will try again but will definitley bring a snowmobile next time. Anyone have any input on crappie/bluegill lakes in the area?? My wife wasnt impressed with my guiding skills after " making " her wake up at 4am so I have to make it up to her with the next trip up.

sorry for the delayed reply I haven't logged on In a while, The ice was clear of slush and plenty safe for us to drive our 3/4ton truck onto. Once we got up to camp we spoke to Gloria at Luckys bait in Iron River she always has the scoop. After speaking to here we skipped out on Emily lake and headed over to Hagerman but the drifts were to deep for us to get through in some places. Well that being said we drove 5min up the road and went to Bass lake had a great time northern were hitting suckers on tip ups just below the ice and we got into perch for about an hour landing 32. All perch were small but northern were all keeps 25" was the smallest

I will be up at camp next weekend and was hoping some one could provide me a report in the Iron River area, primarily on Emily, Hagerman, Iron, and Fire lakes. Any information is appreciated.

Thanks
