Fished Bond Falls flowage today. Water temps started in the mid 60's was up to 72 by the time we left. Water is high because of all the rain. Very little exposed shoreline. Mayfly's are hatching. Marking clouds of them on my locator in 21' of water. Fish we're suspended in the clouds of mayfly's. End up w/6 12" crappie, 4 small undersize walleye, and a handful of rockbass. No perch to be found.

Have been fishing the Bond 3 of the last 4 weekends. Lots of Walleye and Northern but no Perch or Crappie. Walleyes were mostly undersized. Northerns ran large. Travel on snowmobile was great.

Important Information! Beware and be safe! WESTERN UPPER PENINSULA -- The Upper Peninsula Power Company will be lowering water levels on the hydro reservoirs in the Western U.P. in the coming weeks. The Victoria Dam and Bond Falls draw downs are scheduled for January. The Prickett Hydro Dam Reservoir draw down starts in February, with the Lake Gogebic reservoir levels slowly dropping now through February. These draw downs may lead to bridging on the reservoirs. That's when a gap forms between the ice and the water level. There is also ice deterioration from increased water flow. Recreational users of the ice in these regions should use extreme caution as the ice may become very instable. These draw downs are to make room ahead of time for the upcoming spring melt and rains. UPPCO expects to begin returning water levels to normal in April, depending on conditions.

The Walleye were not real co-opertive but the smallies were.Lots and lots of Rock bass if thats your thing.Water is way up.Water levels so high its like learning to fish a new flowage!I've been going here for 20 years and I've never seen the MOSQUITOS so thick. We left one day early because of it.Also saw a flock of turkeys for the first time up here at the campground.GOOD LUCK FISHING!

I was up this past weekend and had a good time.I just shore fished but had pretty good luck.Fished by the Dam and caught a variety of perch walleye and pesky rockbass.Lots of boats out there. The water levels are way up.I only saw a couple stumps out in the stumpfield through my binox.I heard a few 24to26 inch walleyes were caught.I'll be heading back up in a few weeks camping and with the boat.GOOD LUCK FISHERPEOPLE!

Does anyone fish this in the winter? If so what are the water levels and how do you access it. If not, why?
