FISHING FORECAST
Lake Ahquabi offers quality angling for bass, bluegill, crappie, redear sunfish and channel catfish. Largemouth bass were surveyed up to 18.5 inches, with most fish between 10- and 16-inches. Bluegill were sampled in good abundance with decent numbers of 7- to 8-inch fish. Black crappies surveyed were mostly 8- to 10-inches. Redear sunfish are very abundant and reaching good size. Many 7.5- to 10-inch redears were surveyed. Channel catfish were present in good numbers and most abundant in the 12- to 15-inch range with fish surveyed up to 29 inches. Gizzard shad were observed for the first time in 2019 and are likely to negatively impact the bluegill fishery.(2019)
