FISHING FORECAST
The fishery at Prairie Rose Lake now eight years past the 2012 lake draining and fishery renovation. The majority of the Largemouth bass are 12- to 14-inches and provide a lot of catch and release angling. Continued growth will improve the quality of the bass fishing in Prairie Rose this summer. The bluegill population has quality 8- to 10-inch bluegills in good numbers. Black Crappies are 11-inches. Look for crappies around the rocks reefs in early May and bluegills on the beds in late May/June. Plan on doing a lot of catch and release bass fishing. Harvestable size channel catfish are now in the lake.(2020)
