Since 2009, common carp and bullhead numbers have increased in Diamond Lake and some signs of water quality are diminishing. A complete renovation is planned with water levels lowered through the fall and winter (2017) to eliminate the undesirable fish populations in Diamond Lake. Drawdown of the lake will be short term with fish stocking and water levels returning during the spring 2018. After restocking, fish growth will be extreme with northern pike and yellow perch approaching angler acceptable size by the end of the second growing season. (2018)
