Courtesy docks are in for the season. Water temperatures are in the upper 50s and low 60s. Most area water levels are a few inches over crest. Most fish are still out in deeper water, but should begin to make their way shallower as water temperatures increase. Also check out Iowa's Walleye Challenge that runs 5/1 - 6/30 for statewide prizes for anglers.

The water temperature is in the lower 60s. The walleye season is now open.

Yellow Perch - Fair: Sorting will most likely be needed.

Courtesy docks are in for the season. Water temperatures are in the upper 40s and low 50s. Most fish are still out in deeper water, but should begin to make their way shallower as water temperatures increase. The 41st annual Iowa Great Lakes Walleye Weekend begins May 6th when the Walleye season opens. Also check out Iowa's Walleye Challenge that runs 5/1 - 6/30 for statewide prizes for anglers.

Most courtesy docks are now in for the season. Water temperatures in most lakes are still low and most fish are still out in deeper water. The walleye season on the Iowa Great Lakes is closed until May 6th.

The lake is ice free, the water temperature is in the mid 40s and no courtesy docks are currently in place. The walleye season is currently closed.

All lakes are now either open or beginning to open up. Most courtesy docks are not yet in place. The walleye season on the Iowa Great Lakes is closed until May 6th.

Black Crappie - Good: Try small jigs tipped with a minnow or tube jig and bobber.

Bluegill - Good: Try tube jigs, plastics or other small jigs.

Northern Pike - Good: Tip ups have been working well.

The lake is now open, no courtesy docks are currently in place. The walleye season is currently closed.

Yellow Perch - Fair: Minnows have been working well, some sorting may be needed.

Ice conditions are still ok for foot traffic in a few areas, but finding a safe way to get on the ice may be hard as shorelines and some bays are starting to open up. The weather forecast calls for much warmer weather, so expect ice conditions to quickly diminish. Open water season is just around the corner. The walleye season on the Iowa Great Lakes is closed until May 6th.

Black Crappie - Good: Try small jigs tipped with a minnow or tube jig and bobber.

Bluegill - Good: Try tube jigs, plastics or other small jigs.

Ice conditions are ok in some areas, but access can be hard to find. Expect conditions to diminish. The walleye season is currently closed.

Northern Pike - Good: Tip ups have been working well.

Yellow Perch - Fair: Minnows have been working well, some sorting may be needed.

The walleye season on the Iowa Great Lakes is closed until May 6th. Permanent and non-permanent ice shacks must be removed from the ice when not occupied.

Getting around the lakes has been easier after recent rain cut down on the majority of the snow cover. The walleye season on the Iowa Great Lakes is closed until May 6th. Permanent and non-permanent ice shacks must be removed from the ice when not occupied.
