For information on the lakes and rivers in north central Iowa, contact the Clear Lake Fish and Wildlife office at 641-357-3517.

All courtesy docks are out for the season. Water temps are in the mid 40's. Water clarity is around 3 feet. The lake level is 14 inches low. Clear Lake has a protected slot on walleye. All walleye between 17 and 22 inches must be immediately released unharmed. No more than one walleye longer than 22-inches may be taken per day.

Muskellunge - Fair: Fall is an excellent time to target muskie. There is a 40 inch minimum length on muskellunge in Iowa.

Walleye - Fair: Anglers are having success fishing the grade and wader fishing around the Island. Best bite is after sunset.

Water temperatures have dropped into the 60s on northcentral Iowa lakes. For information on the lakes and rivers in north central Iowa, contact the Clear Lake Fish and Wildlife office at 641-357-3517.

Black Crappie - Good: Use small jigs or minnows along vegetation edges or the dredge cuts.

The bathrooms at Ventura access and the grade are closed for the season. The fish cleaning station will be closed on Monday October 16th. Water temperatures are in the mid 50's. Water clarity is around 2 feet. The lake level is about 15 inches low. Clear Lake has a protected slot on walleye. All walleye between 17- and 22-inches must be immediately released unharmed. No more than one walleye longer than 22-inches may be taken per day.

Water levels are near a foot low on Clear Lake. Water temperature are in the upper 60's.

Yellow Bass - Good: Anglers are catching Yellow Bass drift and casting live bait and small jigs. Drifting is a good technique to locate schools of fish.

Black Crappie - Fair: Anglers are gettin crappie in the dredge cuts and artifical vegetation beds on the main lake. The Iow Fishing Atlas can help locate the two artifical vegetation beds. areas

Walleye - Fair: The Walleye bite is improving, especially near sunset and after.

Water temperatures have dropped into the 60's on northcentral Iowa lakes.

The current water level is about 12 inches low.

Yellow Bass - Good: Angling has picked up for Yellow Bass this week. The western third of the lake has been the best. Use small jigs, crawlers, or minnows.

Walleye - Fair: Walleye angling is improving. Fish evenings as the fish move shallow looking for forage. Wind swept shores are the best areas to target.

Black Crappie - Good: Target crappie along vegetation edges or the dredge cuts with small jigs or minnows.

Muskellunge - Fair: Fall is an excellent time to target muskie. Remeber there is a 40 inch minimum length on Muskellunge in Iowa.

Black Crappie - Good: Anglers are catching a few crappies using live bait and small jigs.

Walleye - Slow: Use crankbaits in 8-10 feet of water. A few fish are being caught on live bait around the docks and near vegetation. Best bite is after sunset.

Water temperature is in the upper 60s. Lake level is 9.7 inches below crest. Water clarity is 2 feet. Clear Lake has a protected slot on walleye. All walleye between 17- and 22-inches must be immediately released unharmed. No more than one walleye longer than 22-inches may be taken per day.

Channel Catfish - Fair:

Yellow Bass - Good: Try a small jig tipped with a minnow in 4 to 7 feet of water. Use your electronic to find the fish.
