Ice fishing is winding down in most of our areas with a few exceptions. Some of the larger lakes are holding ice but shoreline access is the issue. The winter aeration system in Town Bay (westernmost bay) of Black Hawk Lake is in operation.
Ice fishing is not recommended.

Most lakes in the area have anywhere from 6-14 inches of ice. Ice has deteriorated along shore in some of our area lakes so use caution if venturing out. The winter aeration system in Town Bay (westernmost bay) of Black Hawk Lake is in operation.
As of Feb 16, ice has pulled away form shore several feet by the ramp since the recent rains. But once on the ice, thickness off the boat ramp was 8 inches.
