The main reason they are so popular is mostly due to their size. There are fish here and a good variety too, but the bite is somewhat sporadic and it's not normally a lake to limit out on. I prefer staying on stone at least in the summer as pine is full of recreational boaters that make fishing a lot less fun. That being said, you will occasionally have good days though and since it's an easy lake to launch on and right in town, it offers some convenience for fishermen.

There are launches on both lakes, Pine is a pay launch but I don't know what the charge is. Stone has a free launch. Both lakes have good populations of gills and crappie.
