I have a vacation home on this small no wake lake. It is good for large mouth bass and the lake has a slot limit. The channel catfish are out standing and they are plentiful. This summer the wife and I have caught over six cats weighting 4 to 9 pounds, lots of fun. Caught on chicken livers and red worms. About half of these were caught off our dock, rest in various spots around the lake. Bluegills are everywhere in various sizes and always seem to be biting. The crappies are plentiful and I have caught them on minnows and red worms. The boat ramp is steep and it is concrete but doable. You do need a boat sticker that you can purchase at the lake store.

With my Great Grandma living on the road to the old lake, I speant a lot of time here, while growing up in Gillespie. This lake has a "New" ramp and it is steep. Boats are few and far between though due to the size and wake limit. This is the perfect place to do some bank fishing. Walk the footpaths on the other side of the dam, or just make your own. Catfish and Blugill Gallore. If you are lazy this is no lake for you, but if you wanna good place to put out the cooler and a lawn chair this is the place. It is packed with fish.

Steep ramp. I only have rear-wheel drive, and it's doable. When clear, this lake has high potential. Big fish! Gets very muddy in a hurry after a rain. Don't waste any time here, go to the new lake. This lake is no wake. 2/3 the size of new lake.
