In my 34 years in town, I've never seen a rock bass from Wonder. Just people calling Green Sunfish the wrong name.

Here is one for the books! I question this? Possible but 33 years of fishing this lake and I’ve never hit over a pound. Lake Geneva rock bass would eat that thing though so anything is possible. I wonder if it will apply as it’s a private lake?

Yeah they make great fertilizer too Sniff!   I layed low this weekend. Had to work Saturday so that was out the window. Ate deer steaks and perch for dinner yesterday so that was that. Walked out the house around 3 and it was beautiful out and the lake was flat as a pancake! Had a few buddies fish by the dam and didn’t get any fish pictures so it probably turned into more of a drinking event lol Gonna sun for the nippersink this week if I get a day. Then I think we are gonna get the boat out and head for the chain. Time for eyes ?? and Muskie. Feed bag will definitely be on with the influx of water. Glad u got on them sniff makes for a great weekend. Keep up the posts enjoy the company!

Pantera - had a great afternoon out today I posted it in the strip mine forum. Sorry no pictures was way too busy catching fish.

Edit: p.s. forgot to mention that I took the 12 gauge along with a box of 00 buckshot with me today but no coyotes decided to come out and play Lol, it's like they knew I brought it with me.

Hang ‘‘em high I’ll tell ya what took me 20 years to figure out!   well I started with west bay cause anyone fimilar with the lake knows walleye spawn there! Thank god they protected that. So I knew the perch would be close. Lots of water to cover so years went by many 0’s. Then one year I hit them. I mean hundreds of 10-11 in perch. I would only keep 25 max as these things were stuffed with eggs. Made you feel bad to keep ‘em! Hide that from everyone but a couple close buddy’s. Anyway what I learned. Perch love Eddie’s. They love first sun and sun in general so most sun of the day spots. Northwest is 90 percent for me. They also love current. Winds swept Eddie’s. They love transitions. Mud and sand in wonderlake. Lastly they will be shallow. 6in to 3 ft. I’ve destroyed ‘em in 1ft the one time I found them on the east side they were still young though. Not even filletable. So anyway I’ll give you what you were real close!   Oh yeah one more thing lol bluegills will be real close to them eating them eggs. Seems the crappie like the mix as well they just coming back so will see how that turns out. Lasts Sniff nice catch them some pigs. Glad you got out! You should take some them coyotes out. I’ve definitely had my run ins. They are way over populated in Illinois. Make great rugs! Pelts sell for nice price! As you can tell I’m an avid hunter! Lol ?? well boys it’s gonna be a tuff week went back a few degrees today!  fish fry tonight and maybe a fire. Had to talk myself out of snow perch as the little lady don’t like my add/adhd! Tight lines!

Pantera2 - went fishing first at shadow lakes this afternoon 2 to 5:30pm and we didn't catch anything, then went to my family pit and finally started nailing the crappies 6 to 11:30pm on medium roaches, they wouldn't hit on anything else tried med bass and crappie minnows and they wouldn't even touch them.

Got run out of family pit by coyotes around 11:30pm, didn't even keep any of the crappies for dinner because I was only catching the bigger ones around 11 and 12 inches, never did catch any keepers in the 7 to 10 inch range for a fish fry. I'll post a few pictures of the evening's catch and release.  ( Sorry it was dark and some of the pictures look like they got cut off )

Hit it up yesterday covered some ground! Storm what ? Lol killed the perch. Crappie. Bluegills were gone. Three hrs in decided to end it as that’s enough in a kayak! Took six spawned out females and decided to leave them finish. 200 plus fish. Tons of 6 in swoll pigs!

Thanks sniff! Stay safe today it’s gonna be a wild ride down there Today! Orange is still color of choice tipped with waxie. Perch were half spawned out. Good news no more dead crappie. One perch I caught had the fungus so I fed him to the seagulls lol Have a report up around noon.

Well at least someone is catching a nice batch for a fish fry, down south on the lakes I'm fishing I've only come across a bunch of dinks and bad weather Lol.

The wind down here has also been shitty, probably would of been better off fishing for just catfish and with all the rain we had the Kankakee river is up and fast running as well as all the creeks that run into it.

Have a great fish fry.
