Fished on Saturday from 1:15 to about 3:30. The west section of the lake looked pretty crowded so I went back to the east side just NE of the first bridge.
Caught a perch in 24 fow right for the get go, it came up 3 feet off the bottom and hit a northland eyeball spoon (with waxworm) with gusto.
After that, not a single fish would move more than 12" off the bottom. I hopped around, in depths between 24' and 15'. Had a few light hits on a 1/32 oz jig with a plastic tail, but no fish.
Around 3pm, fish got more active, they would come in hard to a spoon (silver Swedish pimple, tipped with a microplastic), including coming a few feet off the bottom, but wouldn't bite (didn't matter if I continued jigging, held it still, made it shimmer, etc.). Eyeball jig with waxworm would get no bites. A tungsten jig with a waxworm got a couple nibbles, but no fish.
Then I had to leave, but I'm guessing they were getting more active as the sun got lower and wish I could have stayed later.
Hey Electric ,
I am going to Mallard this afternoon. any suggestions on where to go for Pan fish?

Fished on Saturday, 2/13/21 from about 1:30pm to 4pm.
Not too familiar with the lake and the first spot I identified on the map was occupied.
Went to 24 fow just NE of the first bridge and found small perch.
Caught them on several lures, with wax worms and on a bare spoon. Probably spent more time seeing what lures they’d bite on. Moved around a bit down to 11 fow. First place with perch was still the best.
Fish got inactive as the snow stopped.
I’ll need to learn this lake.
