No problem, That was my 1st time to Hennepin. Usually fish SR or Ottawa if I fish the illinois. Went back yesterday 01/01.. Tried to vert jig again and the current was just too much, along with the wind, boat control was a problem, so ran cranks again for an hour or so. Had 2 rips on a board that came unbuttoned. Could only troll up river as down river was way too fast of a speed to keep cranks wobbling. Once the water comes down some, Ill try again until we have ice again, If ever. GL out there.
Good job with the reports for Hennepin. i fish there occasionally.

Ice fished 8 days prior on 4" ice. Obviously that wasn't an option so loaded the boat back up and went looking for sauger also. Started jigging a channel break, marking fish, not biting. Tried bottom bouncing both crawlers and minnows also, nothing. So switched up to cranks on flats and found white bass biting cranks, and a mini pike. Had a blast pulling boards with my son 9-12' adjascent to deep water. Water temp 42-44 an lots a junk floating, dirty water. Managed to get him on some fish though.

Out again today, nice day to be on the water. It was warm and winds were light.
Only problem, the fish weren't cooperating.
Boated 2 shortys and had another 3-4 hits in 4 hours. The water was up nearly a foot, clarity was down to about 8" and the temp was 8 degrees higher than Tues
Below 40° F
41° - 45° F
The bite was great again this morning until a shuttle tug knocked everyone off the fish moving barges around. last hour was not good
Fished in about 22' of water, hair jigs and Berkeley gulp minnows
Boated about 10 with 3 legal fish in a little over 2 hours
Marry Christmas to all!
