There are: white crappies, rock bass, smallmouth bass, green sunfish, chubs, blue gills, carp, channel catfish and largemouth bass. Do not fish in the Forrest Preserves in New Lenox, which are posted. I float small fathead minnows about 18" below a very light float. I don't catch a lot of big fish but there are some respectable sizes of each species to be had on occasion. I wade the shallow inside turns and float the deeper outside turns. Even in the mid summer when the creek is low be careful on those outside turns some are over 7'. I have never targeted flathead cats, but since this dumps into the DesPlaies they could be there. It's a nice little creek. Keep in mind there is a lot of effluent dumped in there from the sewage disposal plants along the banks. I wouldn't eat anything out of there and would not wet wade it. I thoroughly rinse my waders off when I get home.
