Actually Jackjigs, it is quite opposite. This helps the fishery. Over abundance of Crappie, hurts the other species. You will never wipe out crappie in any lake. It also helps the size of Crappie in lakes

Went out today, a few crappie all under 8” and a few dink perch. Fished the channels around Jones Island. Another group was out, I seen them keep maybe 30+ 7” crappie. Stuff like that ruins fisheries... I released all I caught as non was of size... wish others did that....

Ice was a good 2.5in. Was out for an hour yesterday. Should only be good the 36 hours. Be safe out there!

Went out there to check out the ice. I believe it should be game on next week. Red flag was still flying as well.

Going to give GL a shot this winter. Had some luck with pan fish on kayak over the summer. Has anyone had any luck out there in the past couple years through the ice? I hear a lot of perch rumors.

Ice was getting thin in shallows. One other guy out further. Fish were biting. Winds were very high. Thinking that after today and tomorrow's weather it's pretty much over for this ice fishing puppy. Fishing was done last night.

Well turned out to be unsuccessful day. Wanted to fish my favorite spot but unfortunately the ice didn't want us to. Did start to crack. Going to wait ice is developing so that's a great sign but tomorrow showing signs of another warm up think am going to take a back seat for awhile until things get back to some steady low temperatures.

Just last week my son and I were out. We fished mainly shallow structure that had immediate drop offs located within the area. We found that very tiny jigs tipped with spikes is what was doing the trick. We managed to land some very nice crappie and some very nice perch which we did release. For all that fish this lake!! It's called selective harvest just because u catch doesn't mean u get to keep it!!! I am a very strong believer in a big fish caught today a big fish leads to more to be caught for another day! I only keep what I plan to eat! For all those that come out there and bucket those that we call undersized KNOCK IT OFF!!! RESPECT OR GO HOME!!! FOR ALL THAT HAS BEEN RESPECTING THE LAKE THANK YOU!!  The DNR has been out on several occasions and I personally hope they come out more so they can catch these people that do not respect the lake!! Sorry guys I will not be posting any pictures because there are people out there that are ruining this wonderful fishery that I personally would like to protect.

Sad to see... This lake was rebounding from the die off a little over 5 year's ago started to provide decent fish but from 4 years of being heavily over fished and watching morons keeping 12-18 inch pike in large numbers along with small panfish (running back to their cars to hide them) it has seriously taken a toll. I went out several times in the summer and I was lucky to get a fish of size. I'm hearing the same from residents on the lake as well. I wanted to pop the tent there but I've been doing pretty good out on Marie. Hopefully they start catching some of the dummies in the act.
